Before you start
What you're telling yourself, and what I say back.
“I can't dance.”
That's exactly where we start. First you walk — weight transfer, footing, line. The dancing comes later, once the floor holds you.
“I'm going to twist an ankle.”
That's why dancers wear lace-up boots, not pumps: the shoe holds the ankle. The first class covers choosing your pair and strengthening — and you can do the first weeks in flats.
“I don't have the body for this.”
Heels isn't a body type, it's an intention. What reads on camera is poise — and poise can be trained.
The method
We don't start
with choreography.
Most online classes teach you steps. The result: you copy a sequence without ever holding your own footing. Here the order is reversed — which is why, four weeks in, it holds.

- 01
The walk
Weight transfer, footing, line, an ankle that holds.
Until the walk is there, everything else wobbles. We spend the first two weeks on it — no music, no flattering mirror.
- 02
The flow
Waves, isolations, floorwork, musicality.
Your body learns to answer the music instead of counting. Body rolls, hips, shoulders, then going down to the floor — the real way, the one that doesn't hurt your knees.
- 03
The presence
The gaze, the hands, the breath, the poise.
It's what separates performing steps from owning a room. We work on camera gaze, hands, and the stillness between two moves.

The player
Her right becomes your right.
The mirror flips the class so you no longer have to translate. That's what just another video won't give you: a working tool. Slow motion, the loop and the double angle come with it.

The teacher
Alisa Akulieva
“The first time I put on heels to dance, I lasted four minutes. What I teach isn't some gift I have — it's what I wish someone had explained to me from the start.”
Alisa has been teaching dance for years, in group classes and one-on-one coaching. Heels is her discipline: the one where technique and attitude never come apart.
She films every class herself, in her own studio, with the same care: show the footing, say what hurts when you do it wrong, and never pretend it's easy.
Frequently asked
What we get asked the most.
I've never danced before. Is this really possible?
Yes — in fact, the program was built exactly for you. The first two weeks contain no choreography at all: we work on walking, weight placement and posture. You can do the first session barefoot.
Which shoes should I buy to start?
Don't buy anything before watching the free course "Choosing your heels". In short: a lace-up boot that holds your ankle — not an evening pump —, a 7 to 8 cm heel, fairly thick or flared at first, and a suede or rubber sole depending on your floor. The PDF guide explains how to spot a pair that will hold up to dancing, whatever the brand.
How much time per week?
Three forty-minute sessions are enough to follow the beginner program. If you only have twenty minutes, do the warm-up and a single exercise — consistency matters more than duration.
I live in a small apartment. Will it work?
You need about three meters of clear floor for the walking courses, and two square meters for everything else. The beginner program's choreography was built to fit in a living room.
Can I stop whenever I want?
Yes. The subscription has no commitment: you cancel it in one click from your account, and your access stays open until the end of the period you've already paid for. No further payment is taken after that.
What if I get stuck, or have a question?
You're not alone in front of a video. Write to contact@heelsschool.com: Alisa answers herself — in English, French or Russian — within 24-48 working hours. And if you're a member, you can message her directly on Telegram from your space — a step that won't click, a doubt about your footing, she replies personally.
